Camp FUNShine – Week Five in Review!

The campers examined a favorite subject…themselves!  We discovered the many wonderful ways we are alike and different. Ages, likes and dislikes, family, skills, size and appearance to name a few. We did this through dance and music, physical games, videos on health and relationship stories with discussions. Keeping our bodies strong through exercise, making good food choices (“sometimes food” or “all the time food”), and minimizing germs by proper handwashing were covered by our special guest, Nurse Jane Nelson.  She let us listen to our hearts with a stethoscope too.  We spent time on how a good friends show caring and respect for each other as well as appreciating our “unique” qualities.  The campers’ week included crafting pages for their visual “autobiography” (with room to add more) and assembling an “imaginary friend” for those alone moments when a need to sing or talk to someone arises. As they sang “There is no one just like me!”
